And it doesn't have to be

From the time I was in college I had friends and family excited to buy homes only to discover the constant frustration of things breaking, or maintenance causing headaches, or the project they really wanted to do wasn’t as attainable as they thought. Worst of all, they all felt they were talking to someone more knowledgeable than them who used that knowledge against them. I always thought those people should have someone on their side, not someone who isn’t in it for the money (if anyone selling you anything tells you he/she doesn’t care about money, Run), but someone who has the knowledge and will take the time to give you the information you need to make decisions for yourself.
 
After working for a home flipper I decided to commit to delivering better to people. I went back to finish a Master of Engineering Building Science at UAB. Beyond the science of how homes are built and maintained I studied the science of how they use energy to make homes more efficient. From there I went on to work at a smart home company where I worked on the install and customer process. More importantly I developed a way of modeling home Energy consumption using Thermostat data.
 
My Philosophy around building is it begins and ends with what the customer wants. I am here to help you understand the way the science interacts with the usability of your smart home, and the æsthetic choices you make. I am here to help you decide what you want and then make it happen.
